This is my first using the current stylization! I wanted something that could play to my strengths, which is shading and lighting, while still maintaining a cartoonish style. One of my primary dilemmas with painterly backgrounds and cartoon characters was considerin how they'd interact. Say Otay picks up a rock; Is the rock painted, or toon? Does it change when it's in his hand versus still on the ground? Finding the right balance was the key, and this was where I found it. I also love the idea of Wandyr telling a story that could get the crass-humored Uhcnus to laugh while absolutely mortifying Otay.
